Stubble is a Shane Archer Concept and was created as a pop-up shop inside Shane’s signature salon grow Knoxville. Shane’s vision for grow is to provide a relaxing, warm and inviting atmosphere to make guests feel right at home. We are excited to offer the same inviting atmosphere and award-winning service as grow to a whole new Knoxville demographic.
The vision for Stubble is to “Excel in a modern approach to men’s grooming, providing the highest level of barbers, services, products, and education.” Our mission is “We are not here to fit in. We are here to take over.”
Stubble has been voted “Best Barbershop” in Cityview Magazine for three years running, and Brent Wilkins has won “Best Barber” for the past two years. In 2024, Zach Norton placed second as “Best Barber” and Chloe Lane placed third.
Like grow, Stubble is a green salon, recycling anything and everything down to the hair clippings.
Shane Archer
Shane Archer began his journey as a stylist in 2007. As the owner of Stubble and his signature salon grow, he blends a world-class resume with his unique, fresh perspective on hair design. Shane’s enthusiasm for hairstyling is bested only by his talent and sense of humor. Shane has received the “Best Colorist,” and “Best Stylist” awards in Cityview Magazine seven years in a row. Shane has received advanced training from industry leaders including Paul Mitchell, Redken, Keratin Complex, Keune, Wella and is among only a handful of artists in the United States and Canada to receive PLATINUM.KEY status from legendary editorial artist Kevin Murphy. As a style ambassador for Barbizon Modeling and multiple acting schools across North America, Shane’s talents are also regularly featured in print, television and film. Shane is inspired by every guest and specializes in color, cutting, and hair styling for any occasion.
Shane personally selects the best local barbers to be a part of the Stubble family. Upon opening grow, Shane’s emphasis was to personally train and foster the education of his team to execute a specific standard and technique.

Tyler Clifton
Tyler grew up in Knoxville and has been in the industry for five years after graduating from Paul Mitchell. His favorite L’ANZA products are the Curl Boost and Sculpting Paste, favorite Davines products is the Pre-Shaving and Beard Oil, and he loves the 1821 Carry-On 40-in-1 Travel Foam. Tyler has a 9-year-old son, his hobbies are golf, researching history.

Dalton Hammer
Dalton was born and raised Maryville, TN and currently lives in Sevierville. He initially went to Pellissippi Community College to study Business Management and then entered Barber School in 2023, graduating the following year. His favorite products include L’ANZA’s Zero Weight Gel, Davines Softening Shave Gel and 1821’s Clay. A new hobby of Dalton’s is doing his and his friends’ nails.
CHLOE LANE
Chloe Lane is from Anderson County. She entered the Master Academy of Barbering right after high schools and earned her license. She now has three years under her belt. Chloe is passionate about working with all hair textures and her go-to product is L’ANZA Clay for that perfect finish. As a devoted VOLS fan and self-proclaimed book nerd, Chloe thrives on a good game and an even better read.
Josh Craig
Josh was born and raised in Lexington, KY and moved to Knoxville when he was 14. He graduated from The Master Academy of Barbering in 2024. Although he’s new to the barbering industry he’s super excited and ready to dive into his duties at Stubble. Josh is a fan of classic men’s haircuts, and he loves doing beard trims. His favorite product is the Pasta & Love beard oil from Davines. Josh jokingly warns he’s a big talker and looks forward to meeting everyone who visits Stubble!
